──────── ✦ ────────WHY CHOOSE A MINERAL SUN CREAM?
Mineral sun creams use ingredients such as non-nano zinc oxide to sit on the surface of the skin and reflect UV rays away from the body.
Many conventional sun creams use synthetic UV filters that are absorbed into the skin. While these ingredients are approved for use, some consumers prefer mineral alternatives because they remain on the skin's surface and are widely regarded as a simpler approach to sun protection.
Freedom Sun Cream is designed for those looking for effective mineral protection without compromising on skin comfort.
──────── ✦ ────────DESIGNED FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Freedom Sun Cream is suitable for adults and children and has been formulated to be gentle, easy to apply and comfortable to wear.
The lightweight liquid formula spreads easily across the skin without the heavy, thick feel often associated with traditional mineral sun creams.
Added aloe vera helps soothe and hydrate, while apricot kernel oil and lavender contribute to a nourishing, skin-friendly formula.
──────── ✦ ────────WHAT MAKES FREEDOM DIFFERENT?
Feature Freedom Sun Cream Non-nano mineral UV filters ★ Certified organic ingredients ★ Water resistant ★ Suitable for adults & children ★ Plastic-free aluminium bottle ★ Handmade in the UK ★ Added aloe vera & botanical oils ★ Try Freedom Sun Cream risk-free
If you're not completely satisfied, we'll happily refund your purchase.

- Directions
Shake thoroughly before application. Apply generously before going in the sun. Applying less will reduce the sun protection factor (SPF). Reapply regularly to maintain protection, especially after perspiring, swimming or towelling. For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Keep bottle away from children. Whilst sunlight exposure has health benefits, over-exposure to the sun is a serious health threat. Sun cream is not a substitute for limiting sun exposure, especially in infants.
- Ingredients
Prunus armeniaca (apricot kernel) oil*, Zinc oxide, Titanium dioxide, Caprylic (fractionated coconut oil)*, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil*, Alumina, Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil*, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera)*, Stearic acid, Polyhydroxystearic acid, Linalol**
*organic ingredient, **occurs naturally in essential oil.
- Why switch?
WHY SWITCH TO NATURAL SUN CREAM?
There are over 50 synthetic chemicals designed to filter UV light which can be found in mainstream sun creams and moisturisers. Studies have shown that these chemicals are rapidly absorbed by the skin and have been identified in a range of human tissues, including breast tissue.
These UV filters are known to be hormone-disrupting chemicals, which can mimic natural oestrogen found in our bodies. Lifetime exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals is an established risk factor for breast cancer. These chemicals also end up in rivers and seas, where they may disrupt marine life.

Finally a great sun cream that’s organic, easy to use and works great. The sun cream protected me all day and left my skin fully nourished so I didn’t need an after sun.
LizI used this suncream during the hottest weekend so far. I wa able to stay in the sun without burning and my skin felt moisturied instead of dry and tight as it usually does after a day in the sun. Its great that its made of completely natural ingredients that are not harmful to the environment and its not packaged in plastic! I also found that the Green Cream Body Butter makes a really good after sun moisturiser.
Richard, WorcestershireI used Freedom suncream all week while painting outside windows and fencing. Found it easy to put on, it felt substantial on the skin while applying with no overpowering scent. Worked very well. No problems with sunburn all week. Soon realised a small amount went a long way. This is now my first suncream choice. Good to see it’s organic and not supplied in a plastic container.
CazFreedom sun cream worked really well on my skin. It goes a long way, as only a small amount is needed. With a little massaging in, the coverage is great and my skin felt soft and smooth. I love the hint of lavender smell. I'm really happy to use it on my children with the knowledge all the ingredients are natural and safe.
SueI was lucky enough to be asked to test this out last summer - I used to get dreadful prickly heat on my chest, but I don't get it with this. So can only assume that it was the chemicals in the other sun creams that were setting this off. I found this much less whitening than other natural sun creams I've tried, which end up looking more like white a sun block on my skin. This was mush easier to apply and a little goes a really long way so it lasts a long time. A big bonus is that my skin felt really soft afterwards, especially my face, which is usually oily after using sun cream.
JuliaI used this suncream on a recent trip to Marrakesh where the average temperature was around 35 degrees. I must say it does the job perfectly! Did not burn at all and it left me feeling moisturised and tanned. It’s best to shake well before use and apply sparingly, really massaging it into your skin. It was very long lasting for me. This is an excellent organic and natural lotion to protect you from the sun, I love the packaging and it’s really cool to get the pump dispenser as well as I found it helpful with the application. Travel size is very handy if you’re flying somewhere with hand luggage.

"What SPF is Freedom Suncream?"
Freedom Suncream is SPF 20, which means it provides 20 times your skin’s natural protection against UVB rays. It offers long-lasting, water-resistant coverage and can be reapplied as needed, especially after swimming, sweating, or towel drying.
- From : Oscar
"Is Freedom Suncream suitable for sensitive skin?"
Yes! Freedom Suncream is formulated with gentle, skin-friendly ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, and natural plant waxes. It’s free from fragrances, preservatives, and synthetic additives, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin, eczema, or allergies. Always patch test first, especially on young children or if you have known sensitivities.
- From : Sue
"Can Freedom Suncream be used on babies and children?"
Yes, Freedom Suncream is suitable for children and babies over 6 months. It contains no harsh chemicals or artificial ingredients, and the mineral-based protection is ideal for young, delicate skin. As with any product, apply a small patch test before full use and reapply regularly, especially during water play.
- From : Suzie
"Does Freedom Suncream leave a white cast?"
Freedom Suncream uses non-nano zinc oxide, which can leave a very slight white tint, especially on darker skin tones. This is a natural feature of mineral sunscreens, but it also serves as a helpful visual cue to ensure full coverage. Most users find it blends well after application, especially when warmed slightly between the hands.
- From : Stu
"Is Freedom Suncream water-resistant?"
Yes, Freedom Suncream is naturally water-resistant and designed to stay on during swimming and sweating. However, like all sunscreens, it should be reapplied every 2 hours, or after water exposure or towel drying, to maintain full protection.
- From : Sue
"Is Freedom Suncream vegan and cruelty-free?"
Absolutely. All Green Woman products, including Freedom Suncream, are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We never test on animals, and we don’t use any animal-derived ingredients — ever.
- From : Emmie
"Does your sun cream contain palm oil or palm oil derivatives?"
Our natural mineral sun cream is made with skin-safe, eco-conscious ingredients, and we’re committed to responsible sourcing. The non-nano zinc oxide we use is suspended in caprylic/capric triglycerides, which are primarily derived from coconut oil. However, this suspension may contain trace elements of other vegetable oils, including rapeseed or sustainably sourced palm oil.
While we cannot guarantee it is completely palm-free, any palm-derived ingredients used are from certified sustainable sources (RSPO) and are included in trace amounts only. We are actively working with our suppliers to minimise environmental impact and maintain transparency in all our formulations.

"Your sun cream contains alumina (aluminium oxide) — is it safe, and is it the same as aluminium?"
We understand concerns around aluminium in skincare, especially when it comes to natural products. While our sun cream does contain alumina (aluminium oxide), it's important to know that this is not the same as aluminium salts used in many conventional antiperspirants.
Alumina is an inert, naturally occurring mineral that does not dissolve in the body and cannot penetrate the skin — it’s far too large to be absorbed. Its role in our sun cream is to coat and stabilise the zinc oxide particles, helping to ensure smooth, even application and effective sun protection.
In contrast, aluminium salts (such as aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium zirconium) are water-soluble and are used in antiperspirants to block sweat glands, which is why they are more closely linked to health concerns. We do not use any aluminium salts in any of our products.
We use only 0.4% alumina in our sun cream, and even if it were accidentally ingested — such as by a curious child — the amount would be extremely low and not considered harmful. Plus, the product has a neutral, unappealing taste, making accidental ingestion unlikely.
In short:
? Alumina is not absorbed through the skin
? It is not the same as aluminium salts
? It is used in safe, minimal amounts to stabilise the formula
