LUDLOW BUSINESS THE GREEN WOMAN LEADING THE WAY WITH NEW ORGANIC SKINCARE RANGE
Brand new product range to complement their award winning deodorants and moisturisers focuses on simple chemical-free alternatives for skin and hair.
This week, Ludlow-based natural skincare company The Green Woman is launching its new Extra Virgin Coconut Oil for skin and hair. The environmentally focused, zero-waste company has won several awards for their natural, organic and plant-based skincare alternatives. These include their widely successful Fit Pit natural deodorants and Green Cream natural moisturisers, which are hand-made with love at their makery in Ludlow.
Since Eve and Suzanne Carnall created The Green Woman in 2013, they have been passionate about running their business in a way that has minimal impact on the environment. It was, therefore, a natural step to gain their prestigious COSMOS Organic certification - which was awarded in October last year. The 100% Organic range offers simple and pure ingredients with multiple uses that can be used to replace lots of other mainstream products that contain unnecessary and unsafe chemicals.
“Every ingredient we buy is recorded and traced so that we can prove it is certified organic. Every cleaning product we use is environmentally friendly. And every product is labelled clearly so that customers can see all the organic ingredients.” Suzanne Carnall, Co-Founder of The Green Woman
Using organic ingredients has a beneficial effect at all stages of a product’s life cycle; from pesticide-free plants, to nourishment of our skin, to the product packaging disposal (although The Green Woman have reduced this need by running a popular jar refill scheme).
“The principle that we work on is that you want the skin to be treated as gently as possible and not irritated. The more you work with the skin's natural ability to repair and function… the less products you need to buy. Products that strip your skin's natural oils will cause your skin to need to produce more oils to compensate, leading to a negative feedback loop where your skin goes out of balance.”
Eve Carnall, Co-Founder of The Green Woman
Coconut oil was a natural choice as the first product in this new range, because it is a kind and natural moisturiser that also provides antimicrobial, antifungal and antioxidant properties. The Green Woman’s extra virgin coconut oil is particularly high quality, containing a broader range of phytonutrients that provide deep nourishment to the skin.
“The classic skincare routine of cleanser, toner and moisturiser can be replaced with coconut oil, because it can clean as well as moisturise. Many skin types are aggravated by the use of toner causing a moisture imbalance, which leads to the need to purchase more products.” Suzanne Carnall, Co-Founder at The Green Woman
Upholding their Cruelty-Free Promise
The Green Woman uses only 100% cruelty-free ingredients and is against all testing on animals. They carefully select coconut oil suppliers who harvest without using monkeys or any form of animal exploitation.
