Human Rights & Palestine Policy

Our Commitment

The Green Woman is founded on principles of respect for people, animals and the planet. We believe that every person, regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion, has the right to live in peace, safety and dignity.

We are deeply concerned by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and oppose the loss of civilian life. We believe that international humanitarian law must be respected at all times and support the protection of innocent civilians.

We condemn genocide, war crimes, collective punishment and the targeting of civilians wherever they occur. We support the universal principles of human rights as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and believe that all people deserve equal protection under international law.

Our Values

The Green Woman has long championed environmental sustainability, social justice and ethical business practices. Our values align closely with those promoted by the UK Green Party, and we are proud to support principles of environmental responsibility, peace, equality and the protection of human rights.

Our position on Palestine is rooted in these humanitarian values. We believe that lasting peace can only be achieved through respect for human rights, justice and international law, and we support the rights of all people to live free from violence, oppression and discrimination.

Ethical Sourcing

All of our ingredients are sourced from certified organic suppliers that meet recognised organic certification standards. We work with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to environmental responsibility, transparency and ethical business practices.

We expect our suppliers to uphold internationally recognised human rights and to operate responsibly throughout their supply chains. We review our suppliers carefully and will investigate any credible concerns relating to human rights or ethical conduct.

We do not knowingly source ingredients or materials from businesses operating in illegal Israeli settlements within the Occupied Palestinian Territories or from suppliers directly implicated in serious human rights abuses. If credible evidence were to arise regarding any supplier, we would review the relationship and take appropriate action where necessary.

Equality and Respect

The Green Woman is committed to treating all customers, employees, suppliers and partners with fairness, dignity and respect. We do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sex, disability, age or sexual orientation.

We believe that compassion and respect for human dignity should guide both our business decisions and our relationships with others.

Transparency

We are committed to being open and honest about our values and our sourcing practices. As a small independent family business, we continually review our supply chain and policies to ensure they reflect our ethical commitments and the high standards expected by our customers.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated where appropriate to reflect developments in international human rights standards, ethical sourcing best practice and our own continuous improvement as an ethical business.
