Supplier & Ethical Sourcing Policy
Our Commitment
The Green Woman is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly throughout our supply chain.
As a small independent manufacturer, we seek to build long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values of fairness, integrity, environmental responsibility and respect for human rights.
The majority of The Green Woman's ingredients are sourced through suppliers approved under the Soil Association organic certification scheme. We regard independent third-party certification as an important mechanism for supporting transparency, traceability and responsible sourcing within our supply chain.
Workers' Rights
We expect our suppliers to:
• Comply with all applicable employment and labour laws.
• Prohibit forced labour, bonded labour and human trafficking.
• Prohibit child labour.
• Provide safe and healthy working conditions.
• Respect freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining where permitted by law.
• Avoid discrimination and harassment.
• Pay wages that meet or exceed legal minimum requirements.
Where possible, we encourage suppliers to apply these same standards throughout their own supply chains.
Ethical Purchasing
We aim to maintain fair and respectful relationships with suppliers by:
• Building long-term supplier partnerships.
• Paying suppliers in accordance with agreed payment terms.
• Avoiding unreasonable purchasing demands.
• Seeking transparency regarding ingredient sourcing.
• Prioritising certified organic and responsibly sourced raw materials where feasible.
Supplier Selection
When selecting suppliers, we consider factors including:
• Product quality and safety.
• Environmental performance.
• Organic certification status where applicable.
• Ethical business practices.
• Reliability and transparency.
Monitoring
As a small business, we maintain direct relationships with many of our suppliers and regularly communicate with them regarding product quality, sourcing and business practices.
Where appropriate, supplier standards are supported through third-party certifications including organic certification schemes.
